The premise of a bookshop owner discovering mysterious journals that tell a love story was intriguing. The writing was good. But the characters were a bit shallow or cliche. And the romances were sappier than I like. LOL

I really enjoyed this book. Maddie is living her life perfectly and emotionally safe away from her ex whom she can't forget. She was hurt badly by him but yet...when he returns to her life and asks for her help, she can't refuse. This book was sad, happy and funny. Exactly what I needed. These two characters are perfect for each other. I kept hoping they would realize that.

Here is your next task!

Task 3 - 5. Read 4 books first published within the last year.

To qualify for this task, the selected books need to have been initially published on or after April 26, 2023. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it. Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format as the qualification. Please include the initial publication date of your selected book in your completion post.

I really loved The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. So I was looking forward to this book. I enjoyed this book. But it wasn’t as great as the other book. Christa was a little quirky. I checked at her a few times. The romance between her and Nate was low key and sweet. Mostly, though, this was a family story about Christa’s father returning to his family over 20 years later, when the family thought he was dead. The surprise at the end about Christa’s father wasn’t very surprising. A solid 3 star read.

I really loved this story. Veronica runs away from her impending wedding and finds out about Austin needing a nanny for the summer for his twins. Austin doesn't want to hire her because she has no experience but turns out he does hire her and of course, they are attracted to one another. I loved watching this entire story unfold and really loved the epilogue.

Review:

This was OK. I'm in a tad of a bad mood, just wrong timing with personal life.

I have mixed feelings about this, at some points I was really enjoying this and others I was just barely reading it. I think I'll not think about this again after reviewing it. It's just a romance read. It was a decent read but yeah nothing that I think will stick really with me.

Review: So I don't know if I gave read anything by this author before, feels likely but not sure.

I don't like Simon very much first few chapters he was winding me up just a big man child. I can see he grew in a character and his upbringing would have given answers to why his adult character was just garbage.

What I'm saying is he sort of grew on me. He doesn't deserve Gail. She's awesome I liked her.

Romance was good, didn't feel super long and I enjoyed my time reading this.

This was a feel good small town romance, with a family and friendly vibe. There was a little too much soap opera for Kyle and Lourdes to deal with. But it was a quick, easy read.
