‼️ PLEASE TAKE NOTE! ‼️With the challenge ending on Sunday, June 9th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Friday, June 7th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task - except for the final teams racing for the win. Those teams will all get the same task, but a different one from the other teams so they will not be able to prep in advance for the dash to the finish. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!
**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**
‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️
Posting that your team has completed the last task in the Q&A thread is not necessary as I will be checking all the team threads when the challenge ends.
I will post the last task for all team except Teams 5, 6 and 9 here in this thread. Once your team has posted your completion for your current task, you may begin on the last task. 😊Honor system folks, please do not begin the last task until your current task is complete!
Here is the last task for all teams EXCEPT Teams 5, 6 and 9!Last Task - Read a book with a naturally occurring body of water on the cover.
June 9, the last day of this round, is Donald Duck’s birthday! And we all know how ducks love water… To help Donald celebrate his 90th birthday, read a book with a naturally occurring and permanent body of water on the cover. Allowable bodies of water would include an ocean, a lake, a pond, a river, a stream or a waterfall. Pools, puddles and ice rinks are not acceptable. You can use any edition’s cover to qualify for this task. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion post. No pass for this task.
Remember completion posts with errors or missing elements will not count towards your team total or the completion of this task. The task will be considered ‘completed’ when each team member has completed one book for this task, additional books will count towards a tie breaker if necessary. Help each other out by double checking posts are complete with the first edition Kindle page count!
There is no need to post a team completion in the Q&A thread, I will be checking all team threads at the conclusion of the challenge. 😊
MKat, will you accept
as a body of water on the cover? Or, does the body of water have to be on the edition we read? My library has Animal Attraction, but not this edition

The first book it is impossible to determine if it is an aquarium or something like the ocean. So I would say no to that.
For the second, it would work even though it is not the edition you actually read. You can use any editions cover.

"There is enough on the horizon, it works.

Thank you 😍
Just in case anyone is curious, the tie-breaker will be total number of books read this round. If a team has more members there will be an adjustment made to the total number of books read to account for the extra teammate.
Kat, I assume our minimum page count is still 140 so we couldn’t read a 109 page book? I don’t have any in mind, but I just want to clarify our final task, especially since I am on vacation and having a harder time researching books.

♏Vanessa♏ wrote: "Kat, it's fine for several members of a team to read the same book, correct?"Correct, that is not excluded in the task.
♏Vanessa♏ wrote: "Kat, how many books can we put per completion post?"So, I don't have a rule about this... But in all honesty, if there are more books in a post it is harder to check and especially harder to correct, though that second point isn't an issue for the last task. If there are too many books, it is easier to miss one too. If you choose to put several books in a single message, it would help if they were numbered in some way.

Ok, thank you.
KAT, I am on vacation in Utah and we are in the MST (Mountain Time Zone). I LIVE in PDT so my question is since I am in Utah and its time zone is different do I go by that one? If I go by where I live, I have to post my books by 9:00 PM but here it would be 10:00 PM and I just don't want to make an error based on time zones and lose any books read due to that.
