Gina Marie ~books are my drug of choice~ | 15 comments I am reading this for a challenge and found this …. looked into page numbers for Witchy Awakening GR says 121, Amazon says 168 and the actual book page numbers count out 160. The Amazon difference could be them including all the extra pages of other books, author afterword and such.

Okay on an stranger level this actual story of this book ends on 137. Then there the first chapter on the next book, recipe from story, writer page and pages listing all books. Only thing I am sure of is that the 121 pages GR claims is wrong as well as the 168 Amazon claims

Tal (taliesien) Kindle edition page counts will never be accurate. GR policy for Kindle editions is to use the Amazon book page as the only acceptable source for Kindle book data, including page count.

Unfortunately, Amazon uses two different methods to arrive at page count for Kindle books.

The first is "The estimated length is calculated using the number of page turns on a Kindle, using settings to closely represent a physical book." This "estimate" changes frequently and the page count on the Amazon page is often a moving target, changing multiple times per year.

The second way the Kindle page count can be set is when a print edition is linked to the Kindle edition and the Kindle then uses the # pages set for the print book +/-2 pages. In your example, the Kindle edition page count "Contains real page numbers based on the print edition (ISBN B0BZF9DCVZ)." So the paperback edition has 166 pages listed and the Kindle is listed as 168 (166+2), but because print book page counts on Amazon are the # of pages cover to cover based on trim size for POD (Print On Demand) books or publisher supplied estimates, they will never reflect anything resembling actual pages read.

When your Kindle edition was first added to GR, the page count on Amazon likely showed 121 pages. Then it was later linked to the paperback edition and the page count was changed. The best you can do here is request that the Kindle edition page count be updated to the 168 shown on the Amazon book page. GR policy doesn't allow for anything else.

Unfortuna..."

Thank you I’ll make that request.
