Meridith | 8 comments Probably from the 50's - 60's but could be the 40's. Dark blue hardback book with fabric feel type cover. A young girl around 10-12 years is an only child but her Mother is expecting a new baby and is teaching her daughter to keep house. The book is fiction and a story but also very practical and the instructions are meant to teach a young girl many things about cleaning, cooking, laundry and house keeping. One of the main things I remember learning from it was that if you are cleaning eggs off dishes don't use hot because it will cause the eggs to cook more and stick to the dish. It was helpful and informative.

Meridith | 8 comments I checked this book out from the LaGrange Memorial Library in LaGrange, GA in the late 80s. It was in YA Fiction.

Meridith | 8 comments I’m not sure why the description says 40s, must be a typo. I really think it was written in the 50s or early 60s.
