A Mage's Guide to Wicky (R'iyah Family Archives #3) by A.J. Sherwood
A Mage's Guide to Wicky
113pgs
How it fits: Average GR rating of 4.37
Read: 12/13
Rating: 5 stars
Review: I really like this series and Wicky is my favorite character, so glad he got a story. And the story is very fun, I just wish it were a bit longer and we could see Wicky and Sun work together ( beyond the demo for Sun's family).

Week #: 10
Book: Tide of Tricks by Ariana Nash
Date Completed: 12/13/2024
Rating: ***
Review: I really liked the first one, but this one I had a hard time getting into. They are trying to find a killer of latents, but Dom's trick is wacky. It was good, but I thought it could be better.

Review:
I enjoyed this one. It was nice to see all the couples back and see where they are at in their lives. It's hard for me to pick a favorite couple because I really did love them all. I'll always have a soft spot for Caleb and Giovanni though. They started my love for this series.

The Trouble With Trying to Bag a Blood Witch
Rating: 4 stars
Review:

Elijah returns home from a summer abroad to find a note warning him about his boyfriend and chastising him for leaving his plants with no one to care for them. Before he can really take that in, he is abducted by a little furry creature and transported to different worlds. When the creature finally tires itself out in Hell, Elijah meets Darcy, who has been hired by the creatures’ parents to return it to them. Darcy is a blood witch, a djinn, a fire dancer. He’s also the best tracker in the universe, according to him, and when the flink transports Elijah to yet another world, Darcy comes after them again. After leaving the baby with its’ parents, Elijah and Darcy return to Earth. Elijah is intrigued by Darcy, but Darcy is intrigued by Elijah as well, since Elijah just sort of goes with the flow and doesn’t ever really get excited or worried. Before they even know each other for 48 hours, they have to deal with Elijah’s crazy effect on people he gets close to, an unexpected job change for Darcy, the Foxilys, and a threat to the universe.

I liked this one a lot more than the previous couple in the series. It was nice to hear a different voice from Romily, and Elijah was an interesting character in his own right, not just as a match for Darcy. I liked that he was interested in everything and that he fit in well with Darcy’s family (in spite of Darcy being reluctant to join said family), and that he also had a loving family that he was physically related to. Of course, Elijah is more than what he seems, and it was interesting learning about all the different aspects of who he was. It was also funny and sweet seeing Darcy know how precious Elijah was and clenching on to him, never intending to let him go.
