Michelle | 1 comments My father is Persian and immigrated to America from Iran when he was 18. Unfortunately, he didn't share much of his culture with his five children. As I grew older, I remembered some of the things that were shared, and one of them was a storybook with many Persian or Arab tales, which connected me to my dad. I've searched for this book for two days and found nothing that matches. Here are some vague details about the book:

The date of remembrance is roughly 1998, give or take 3 years
The book was likely 8x10 or 10x10 in size.
It wasn't very thick.
The illustrations had very deep colors, and there were many of them.
The art style was almost surreal.
I remember a Cyclops in one of the illustrations, but I can't recall anything about the story.
I think there was a mention of a Jin.
The pages were lined with gold and felt weighty and or glossed.
The book was inside a cover with deep, rich coloring, perhaps blues, greens, and gold.

I've been looking through "The Arabian Nights" and "A Tale from a Thousand and One Nights," but none of the versions I've found seem right, and I'm not even sure if it was one of those tales, but the first title seems familiar to me.

I know this is a long shot, but I would be incredibly grateful for any ideas or help if someone can access 28-year-old memories!
