Yes I agree with all that. I have been wondering why I have been getting in so many reading slumps lately. I think a lot of it has to do with picking the wrong book at the wrong time or the wrong mood. So definitely yes.



Additionally on this topic, I still love reading YA books and there are times when I think I would have loved this so much if I was younger. There were several books where I thought this deserves a 5 out of 5 but I wasn't in love with it because I couldn't relate to the plot. I always think in these cases " right book, wrong time."




Definitely, If I get in a reading funk and just force myself to read I don't enjoy the book therefore what I do is either reread a book I did enjoy or listen to a favorite audiobook so I can give an honest review. But this is with all things in life, example I don't cook if I don't feel like cooking or my food comes out gross. lol







I know we all like to try and stay objective in our ratings but at the end of the day a review is a personal, subjective thing so is bound to be affected and influenced by our feelings as we read a book. If it didn’t hit home at that point in time we won’t be engrossed and would therefore review based on that IMHO…
