If you are willing to make your GR profile public you could add the image to your profile pictures, or you could use an online image sharing service.

i have been using Flickr for months here, this is the first I hear of that.

Ok, but in your first post you suggested an "online image sharing service". I don't know if you know, but flickr is exactly that.

I thought it was more like social media with people creating 'galleries'. I know that some commercial photographers use it as a way of advertising/selling their work also.
What really matters is their terms of service and copyright restrictions, if this is acceptable I will let you know and will add the image.

I still don't understand why none of the dozens, maybe even a 100 images I submitted to goodreads through flickr never caused an issue.

Note that the copyright statement on the image you link states 'all rights reserved', I cannot just ignore that.

I have just had comment back from Goodreads staff, this one can be accepted now. Please be aware that we do have to abide by copyright restrictions for images so all images from Flickr are not going to be acceptable, only images created by GR user and with no restrictions.
Cover now added.
