Hi Everyone,

Here is a call for nominations for the April 2024 Book of the Month. With April Fool’s Day coming up and since we have been reading what feels (to me) like a lot of heavy books lately, I thought I would lighten the mood. The theme for April 2024 will be humour and/or comedy.

Here is a list of the previous books we have read in this group to make sure your nomination has not been a previous Book of the Month:

https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

Rules
1. One nomination per person.
2. Poll will be set up when we reach 6 valid nominations.
3. Nominations should have been first published earlier than April 1974.
4. It would be great if you could share why you want to read this book.
5. To get a wider variety of selections, the nominations may be limited to one book per author.

Cheers,
Ian

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

Larry Hall | 123 comments "Catch 22", I've always heard of this book and never read it, I understand it's about war and its stupidity in a humorous way.

Vera Calado | 55 comments I would like to nominate Praise of Folly by Erasmus. It's one of the biggest classics of all time, and highly satirical.

Hi All,

We have 4 great nominations so far:
1. The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse
2. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
3. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
4. Praise of Folly by Erasmus

I will leave the nominations open for a few more hours, but then I will put up the poll since April is soon at hand.

Cheers,
Ian

Zeljka | 148 comments Hi all! If it is not too late, may I suggest The Miser by Molière? I've read some of Moliere's comedies in highschool and I remember I've liked them. Though I'm not sure which:)
