message 2: by Destiny (new)

Destiny Vasquez | 10 comments usually 7 hours but it could take up to 1 day if it’s around 500 pages, I read the whole twilight series in a week, truly depends on how much i enjoy it

message 3: by JackieBeau (new)

JackieBeau in a bad reading slump | 35 comments Omg me it takes months because I read 3 at a time !
But I say to myself it’s not a race it’s a pleasure and so I take my time

message 4: by Richaar (new)

Richaar | 133 comments usually about 4 days

message 5: by becs (new)

becs | 178 comments good question ! it really just depends on how keen I am to finish the book and how entertaining I found it tbh, I wont force myself to read most of the time if I dont want to even if I have an unfinished book! But, if I am keen to finish a book and am reading it non stop, and its like 500 pgs, it would probably take me like 3-4 days because yes I am a slow reader I do not KNOW how some of you are finishing books in one sitting good for you lol

message 6: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 35 comments anywhere from 2 days to a week. I'm a full time stem student and a mom of two so sometimes it can be hard to find time to read.

message 7: by Geetha (new)

Geetha | 2 comments 2-3 weeks

message 8: by Brij (new)

Brij Nanavati (brijnanavati) | 13 comments It depends on books but generally 1 week to 1 month

message 9: by Ineffable7980x (new)

Ineffable7980x | 47 comments Depends on the book, of course, but the average 300-400 page novel usually takes me about a week.

message 10: by AshLynn (new)

AshLynn | 27 comments It all depends on the book. If it is something I really enjoy, I can finish it in one sitting, and get it knocked out in a day/hours. If It isn't super exciting, and I am only reading here and there, maybe a week or even 2 weeks. If it's in the middle, and I make the time, it can take me about two days, and that's only reading a couple hours when I can fit it in.

Bellaaa (jeremiah's version!) If I like it, definitely like 2 days or less. But if not, it could take up to a month, but rarely that much

message 12: by Wyetha (new)

Wyetha (wyesreads) | 229 comments Depending on the book it sometimes takes 1-2 weeks for a Kindle or hard copy. I can get through an audible book in 3 to 4 days if pressed.

message 13: by Daniela (new)

Daniela | 3 comments 1-3 days

message 14: by ✿ Druti ✿ (last edited Mar 25, 2024 08:34AM) (new)

✿ Druti ✿ | 9 comments 1 day to a week depending on how interesting the book is

message 15: by Mia (last edited Mar 25, 2024 08:35AM) (new)

Mia Ashley | 9 comments It depends on the book and what I have going on in my life. Unfortunately I need to function and cannot spend a day or days reading in order to be an adult. BUT if I love the book a day ( with no work) maybe longer, at most three days. If its more of an intellectual read 4-6 days and a self help books will take me forever I have to be wanting to improve my life/self to bang out the whole book in a week and usually that thought leaves quickly.

message 16: by Elie (new)

Elie Heart | 13 comments Often a week during school semesters, and technically 2 days because I plow through most of a book during a weekend. Over summer I try to do 1 evenly throughout the week, or 2 depending on the length.

message 17: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (iniysa) | 149 comments Depends on how I am reading it. 1 audiobook a day. E-books take a week. physical books can take up to a month.

I can listen to books while doing other things. I can read ebooks in between customers at work. I only have time for physical books just before bed.

message 18: by Malissa (new)

Malissa (malissa1578) | 163 comments Depends on the book. I listen to a lot of audiobooks because I work a lot. I get to sit down and read in the evenings when I am done with my evening chores and when I go and lay down for bed.

message 19: by Gypsy (new)

Gypsy (ignited_red_queen) | 25 comments It really depends on the book, the size and my reading mood. I do try for the time not go over a week of reading a book though because that makes me lose interest. Sometimes I will start physically reading a book and then listen to the audiobook version of it while I am at work if I am really into the book which makes it easier and because I really don't get a lot of free time to physically read as much as I like with work and taking care of my family. I miss the days when I could pick up a book and read it in one setting however my eyes are just not made for that anymore 😔

message 20: by Antonella (new)

Antonella depends how long book is , how invested in the story i am, is it on audio or ebook, how much sleep time i am willing to sacrifice ... usually audiobook hours ebook a day

message 21: by Sybille (new)

Sybille | 10 comments It depends on the length of the book and how much I have on. I usually listen to one book whilst I work and read another when I go to bed. Five days to a week on average but most of my books are fairly long. It also depends on how much I like the book. The better the book the shorter time it takes me to read it

message 22: by Fall (new)

Fall T Depends on the length of the book and pacing of the story. Generally 1-2 weeks

message 23: by Angela (new)

Angela (dtt1amt1outlookcom) | 35 comments It depends on my engagement. On average 3-4 days. with books of over300 pages.

message 24: by CybercrrEDU (new)

CybercrrEDU | 34 comments I used to binge read books over the course of two days or overnight. Now things are a bit complicated with making accommodations for disability, homeschooling, and running a household. I may also be going back to work too. My last read took me a month but only because I was fact checking the heck out of it and doing adjacent research .

message 25: by Tara (new)

Tara Leigh | 43 comments A few days to a week.

message 26: by Rew (new)

Rew (rewsalem) | 109 comments depends how good it is and since my work consumes most of my time it takes me 4 to 5 days maximum

message 27: by Delena (new)

Delena | 0 comments Since im mostly at home these days it takes about 6 to 10 hours to finish a book depending on the no. of pages and whether the story is interesting enough for additional research. If im studying or working I'll probably take about 2 to 4 days to finish one book.

message 28: by Adealynn (new)

Adealynn Battles | 9 comments Depends on how much time I have to actually sit down and read and how invested I am in the story. I've finished like 4 books in a single day while on vacation before but I've also spent 2 months on a single book that was the same length as one of the 4 I breezed through.

Plus personal energy levels play into it too

message 29: by Violet (new)

Violet Sorrengail | 66 comments I usually take a day or too, but I'm also in school, so I have tons of time to sit down and read. But the Song of Achilles took me a while cause I'm so used to fast-paced books, but I loved Achilles and Patroclus together.

message 30: by Bella (new)

Bella | 11 comments The fastest is like 4ish days; slowest is literally weeks lol

message 31: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Rose | 89 comments If it’s a really good book then I’d say like 2-3 days. If it’s something that is just “okay” it’s like a week. It also depends how busy I am with work, chores, plans with family, other hobbies.

♥️ alli ♥️ | 40 comments 4-8 hours in total 😃

(i read fourth wing in 6 hours )

message 33: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessacumberlandcountypa) I'd say 1-2 weeks.

message 34: by Lavinia (new)

Lavinia Darlea way longer than the average, it would seem :)
According to the Kindle statistics I am a very slow reader. I don't know what people do to read 300 pages-long books in a couple of hours. No matter how interesting that book is, for me it means one doesn't really read it, but just goes through it...

message 35: by Tanja (new)

Tanja | 315 comments depends on the book and how much the story catches me. But I can read a long book in a month if I want

message 36: by CandiCane (new)

CandiCane | 4 comments 3-4 days sometimes 2 days when i have a good book.

message 37: by Lilah (new)

Lilah Going to use this data for a school project if you don't mind :)
But usually takes me about 3-4 days depending on the size, and genre

message 38: by Jesy (new)

Jesy Joy (jesyjoy) | 92 comments depends how into it I am but usually a week or two. I'm a school librarian, I have kids and all that so I don't have a lot of time to sit and read.

message 39: by Kindle Jenner (new)

Kindle Jenner | 90 comments I can finish a 300-400 page book that I’m really into in about 2 days, maybe less.

jayla (semi-inactive) 2-3 weeks, I used to be able to read faster but I always read at night now. So, there are days where I don’t read because I’m too tired.

message 41: by Ethereal (new)

Ethereal Amorist (etherealamorist) A day. But if I'm uninterupted, I can finish an average 300 pages book in maybe 3.5 hours.

message 42: by Abby (new)

Abby E. | 69 comments 3 to 4 days. Sometimes just a few hours. Depends on the plot and how it was written.

message 43: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystalhuffman) depends on how good the book is. typically between 3 days-1 week

message 44: by Eden (new)

Eden (edenhufford) | 8 comments Depends on whether I like a book or not and how busy I am. I’ve read 2 400 page books in a day where I was pretty much uninterrupted, and then I’ve taken weeks to finish a 200 page book because I was busy

message 45: by Kez (new)

Kez Marie (kezmarie36) | 38 comments I'm a quick reader, my average reading speed is 100 pages an hour. so typically 3 hours for a standard size book

message 46: by Marrico (new)

Marrico Gordon | 12 comments Two weeks.

message 47: by Austin (Weird) (new)

Austin (Weird) (weirdwashere1) 2 hours for 200 pages but I usually lose the motivation to read a book so probably a week or more

message 48: by Marti (new)

Marti two days, mostly

message 49: by Rim_reads (new)

Rim_reads | 80 comments Depends on long the book is and how engaging the story is

message 50: by Raz (new)

Raz | 11 comments If I am into it, I can usually finish a book in 2-3 sittings.

If it is not really grabbing me, sometimes I go a week or more in between sittings, which drags it out (especially if it means I have to re-read the previous chapter to remember what was going on when I left off). I think it took me about a month to get through the last book I read because I just wasn't in to it enough to be reading it unless I had hours to spare on the weekend or something.
