Malissa (malissa1578) | 163 comments Something light and easy to read generally refreshes or brings me out of a slump. I find those to be rom-coms or cozy mysteries for my tastes.

Janine Ballard (httpwwwdearauthorcom) | 108 comments I go back and reread an old favorite I felt very passionate about. What it is depends on the reading slump. I have a technique for avoiding reading slumps which is to vary what I read by genre so I usually choose something that gives me what the books I have been reading recently did not. IOW, I choose based on what type of read I'm craving.

Kylin Swearingen | 55 comments 96 Miles was a quick read that got me out of a big book slump.
Also, The Giver quartet was an awesome dystopian read that got me out of another bad book slump.

Ashley R | 61 comments I always recommend either something comforting or something a little outside your normal reading.

Little Women is such a sweet story and you don’t have to finish it in order to enjoy it. I always recommend Piranesi by Susanna Clarke since it brought me out of a long slump.
