The Woman in the Wall a little girl who is very shy hides herself in the wall of her family home to avoid school and lives there for years. She only communicates sometimes with her little sister. People might think the place is haunted, I can't recall.
A Stir of Bones I don't remember the details, but I think there was a ghost boy and the girl (who is abused by her father) can see him after she finds his bones hidden in the wall of her house or a nearby house.

This movie had a man living in the walls and basically terrorizing people. It was based off a short film, which was based off a book.
Miss Corpus by Clay McLeod Chapman.
No idea if that's it, but that's the first thing that came to mind! Reading the synopsis, it's probably not it.. sorry.

OMG. Your post reminded me of "People Under the Stairs" so I was checking to see if that was based on a book -- apparently it was inspired by an actual incident.

Did you get the impression that it was from one of those sets/series? Or perhaps a standalone?
What's on the cover - an image or just words? You said it was a blue-white colour scheme. Does it have a picture of a haunted mansion or a face or something? (Assuming you can recall!). :)

I was young and honestly dont remember enough that this would even be possible to find. I think there mightve been stairs on the front cover or inside cover- houselike tho regardless. it couldve been a series but I dont think so. the author was at a convention in rochester NY at the time (2014/15 i think) if that helps. Thank you!

no it was definitely almost a decade ago thank you though!
