Carrie (MarsHillMythos) | 3 comments Hi, I'm new to the group, and am excited as to what you have picked to read. I have read Fahrenhiet 451 at least twice, once for high school and once to check it out for my preteen daughter. I loved it both times and am looking forward to reading it again. Has anyone read anything else by Ray Bradbury? I recently read The Martian Chronicles. And would be interested in what other people thought of it. I also love Dandelion Wine. I've been wanting to read something by Le Guin and by Pratchett, so looking forward to next month too!

Have read and loved it a few times, though it's been a while. I may or may not scrape up the energy to re-read it this month, we'll see!

Bradbury's books have been "classics" since I was a child. Yes--that long! When I first started reading sci-fi I was very taken with The Martian Chronicles, but did not pursue Bradbury.

My first introduction to "Fahrenheit..." was the Truffaut movie. I loved it, but it's a French art film, and that is not the book. When I finally did read the book, it was so much of a 1950's canon piece that I was underwhelmed. But I was pleased to see the differences between it and the movie because, somehow, it's a great comfort to read a sci fi classic and find out that it is a sic-fi classic and not a somewhat surrealist French film.
