A Lady's Guide to Fortune-Hunting
question
What do you think would had happened to Cecy and Lord Montagu if they had managed to elope?

I am not sure on this one. I think they would had been happy? I think Cecy finally found someone who understood her, though from not knowing Lord Montagu’s perspective, it is unsure. Did Lord Montagu not complain about Cecy upon their first meeting? This makes me think that his intentions may not have been pure as well as that from being from a high class family surely he had understood the repercussions that Cecy may have faced. Though it may have just been his immaturity, which was seen when Radcliffe reminded him of the harm it may have caused Cecy, as he mentions he wouldn’t want to cause her any harm. I did think that at some point, why not allow Cecy to marry Lord Montagu, for she is only doing the duty that potentially Kitty may have failed to do. There is the argument that Lord Montagu’s family may have found out about Cecy’s standing, but is this not the same argument for any potential suitor that Kitty may have found? At least Cecy had the education to disguise this.
