Where should I post my request? (group folder overview)

Here's an overview of the different folders in the Librarians Group. Posting in the correct folder will help both you and Librarians with edit requests. Please keep in mind that Librarians are volunteers and so can choose which requests to work on.

Announcements (staff only) – Posts from Goodreads staff only. This folder announces changes to Goodreads Librarian tools, the Librarians Group, and other updates.

Adding New Books & Editions – Please follow these instructions before posting a request to add a new book record or book edition or your book will not be added. If requesting a new edition, please link to an existing book page in your request.

Book Cover Help – Requests to update book covers. Please note we do not replace covers of existing editions, for those request a new edition in the Adding New Books & Editions folder. Remember to link to the book page and provide a link to the cover on a NON-BOOKSELLER site. See this article for more guidance on uploading cover images, and valid sources.

Book & Author Page Issues – Post in this folder for request to add / edit information on existing book and author pages (note: another folder exists for page numbering requests). You can also request editions be combined or merged. Please link to the book or author page(s) when posting.

Page Numbering Requests – Please link to the book page when posting a request to update or add page numbers. Some general guidelines here.

Serieses! – Requests to create a new series, or add to / edit an existing series. Please link to any relevant book or series pages when posting a request. When requesting a new series be added on Goodreads be sure to include why it is considered a series (some guidance here).

Looking for a Project? – This folder is for larger projects, e.g. cleaning up book pages for an author with an extensive list of works (think classics); cleaning up large amounts of non-book items.

Issues with Quotes – Removing, editing, and merging quotes. Please link to the quotes where relevant before posting.

Awards – Adding or editing awards. Please include a link to the book(s) on Goodreads, as well as a link to the award website(s) where it shows the book as a winner when posting a request. Please also specify the book's winning category. Awards listed on Goodreads must meet certain prerequisites.

Help with Listopias – This folder is for requests for edits to Listopia lists, including for removals from lists and checking for duplicates.

Requests for Superlibrarians – This folder is for requests that require the assistance of a Goodreads Superlibrarian. Please only post in this folder if you are certain a Goodreads Superlibrarian is needed. The include merges of an edition that has been shelved 5 or more times, and deleting a work from Goodreads.

Questions (not edit requests) – Questions from members for Librarians, or from Librarians for staff. E.g., clarification surrounding policy or the Librarian Manual. Do not post questions asking about Librarian status (instead, contact support).

Questions (Librarians only) – Exclusively for questions from Librarians for other Librarians.

Policy & Practices – For updates on Goodreads Librarian Policy and Practices. This is a folder for posts from Goodreads staff, if you have a question surrounding policies or practices, please post in the Questions (not edit requests) folder.

Additions to the Librarian Manual – For posts by Goodreads staff only. This folder announces all changes to the Goodreads Librarian Manual.

Archived – Temporary folder currently being archived.

[Closed] Added Books/Editions – For completed add/edit book requests.
