Fleurtje Eliza | 5 comments Hi there,

As a kid, near the end of the 1980s, I read a book that was impressive, but I still managed to forget the title of it :)
Around the same time I read Momo and The Satanic Mill, so I am guessing this book I'm looking for is from the 1970s or 80s.

Space ships flew over the earth killing everything with their laser beams, but a child that was in the water (a pond, lake, swimming pool?) was unharmed. When he/she/they resurfaced it appeared everyone else was gone and goes to look for other survivors.
I remember that after a while he/she/they stumbled upon a banner (sheet?) hanging somewhere outside a building announcing other people still alive, not sure what happened after that... It seems aliens were no part of the story, the book was more about the journey of the teenager.

So far no luck with several search engines, not even with the new Talpa.ai so hopefully someone here can help me out?

Thanks! Ciao, Fleur
