I don't know where they are going with this story thread. I agree with everyone that Sam needs to give it another try, but I'm not sure I'm ready for the devastation, if she has another miscarriage. I'm also not sure that she won't do something stupid like she did the last time.
I'm all for Sam giving it another try, but I really don't want to hear how she loses another pregnancy due to her need to perform her job. I want to know that she realizes that she isn't superwoman and that a woman who is pregnant has a responsibility to protect her unborn child, which she failed to do the last time.Sam wants a child, but she doesn't want to make any sacrifice for one. News Flash: you can't have it all, especially with the jobs she and Nick have.
I also agree that under the circumstances, Sam should give it another try as she will always wonder otherwise. That said, this entire plot thread is being excessively drawn out. If Sam has another miscarriage, which is likely given her issues, Force needs to let it go. The drama is beginning to overshadow the suspense.
I really, really don’t want to see another miscarriage related to her job. It’s offensive.
I like how Sam listened to the people closest to her in forming her decision. It was thoughtful and inclusive.

It has been a while since I read this one, but am I remembering correctly that Sam was not yet aware that she was pregnant when she was injured and miscarried? I do think that if she gets pregnant again she really needs to avoid the physical aspect of her job and let her team handle that.
Judy wrote: "I do think that if she gets pregnant again she really needs to avoid the physical aspect of her job and let her team handle that."Based on her characterization so far, I cannot see Sam being willing to do this. I suppose it all depends on how Force chooses to portray it but it would be a definite departure from her personality.

I agree, but hope that the possibility of a baby would be so important to her and to Nick that she would make what would be a huge sacrifice for her.
Sometimes, if you want to be a mother, you have to make changes. If Sam doesn't step back from the streets for a few months, I will not think very much of her characters. She can be involved without getting into street brawls with suspects.
A baby should not be a huge sacrifice for her, it should be a gift you receive and rejoice over. If I don't see some introspection, taking responsibility for losing the baby, and willingness to change, I'm done with this series.
