This book had a massive printing error with one chapter missing and halve the previous chapter reprinted in it's place. It completely ruined my read of this book.

14) Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, Vol. 5 (5) by Shin Yoshida Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Volume. 5 by Shin Yoshida & Naohito Miyoshi
***

Finally a volume in this series that I enjoyed, the volume's main duel had a more emotional core while moving the story on. It's a shame it took this long to reach this level.

The improvement in the series continues in it's later stages as some of the main mysteries are explained and the final showdown beings.

The difference between a book by James Patterson and a book by James Patterson & .... is so noticeable. A very enjoyable thriller that kept me engaged from start to finish, full of twists and three very different protagonists you can't help rooting for.

A entertaining children's adventure where the setting of the Scilly Isles is as much of a character in it's own right.

****

I've had a bit of struggle with a reading lull but a reread of this delightful tale has helped. The art has a mix of fairy tale whimsy mixed with some creepy elements on the fringes. And the ensemble cast of characters draw you in from the start with several teasing mysteries from their past not yet revealed.

Another collection of accounts of mankind's mission to prove that common sense isn't that common, mixed with some interesting essays about a variety of scientific topics.

21) Bone, Vol. 2 The Great Cow Race (Bone, #2) by Jeff Smith Bone, Vol. 2: The Great Cow Race by Jeff Smith

More of Jeff Smith's charming adventures from the Bone cousins.

****

This series of Buffy comics covers the time period prior to the first series of the show, including a fresh version of the original movie. The art is solid throughout, and you can tell who characters are, which can sometimes let down television spinoffs. I'm glad the foreword explains the presence of Dawn in these stories in relation to their timeline and the timeline of the show, because if it hadn't I can imagine I'd have been confused by it.

Another solid adaptation of the animated series. This tale touches on the grief that drives both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson to be the heroes they are in a tactful way.

Fran | 37 comments 24) Murder Games by James Patterson Murder Games (aka Instinct) by James Patterson & Howard Roughan
****

A very good thriller from James Patterson. Interesting leads in Reinhardt and Needham, a cunning killer and a pacy story.

And with this book I've reached the top of Mount Blanc, time to start my trip up the next mountain.
