message 2: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments My old German Famous Five books by Enid Blyton from the early to mid 1960's as they are very hard to find these days.

All the novels by Nancy Thayer that she signed for me when we met.

Our Pastbook (it cost us $ 100 and includes 400 pages of my Facebook pages way back in 2020 or 2021, lots of beautiful morning skies that I had photographed).

And the 4 Tom Ripley novels by Patricia Highsmith translated by Anne Uhde (Diogenes unfortunately had a new translation published and the old Anne Uhde versions are no longer available in amazon.de).

message 9: by Celeste (new)

Celeste | 40 comments I'm not very attached to any of my books tbh so in a scenario where i already grabbed my cat, phone and laptop i'm going to pick The Earthsea Cycle because it's a pretty hardcover book that cost me good coins and i haven't even started it yet 🥲

message 21: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments I would only save old books in a fire that are no longer available. New books can easily be replaced and ordered used - like new in amazon.com.

message 22: by Diana (new)

Diana Chinchilla (dianas_booksta) (dnchinchilla) | 1 comments That's so hard to say. But prob my decadent collections. The rest are replaceable

Planxti's Imaginary World I’m not overly attached to things - of course I say this while I still have them. If I had to pick only one book as the description said, it would be my current library book.

message 35: by Brianna (new)

Brianna (brithebookbabe) | 59 comments For me its "The Time Traveler's Wife"
This is a book that made a huge impact on me. The movie doesn't do it justice. I bawled my eyes out for days reading this book in high school.
If you all haven't read it, I def recommend if you are in the mood for falling in love with the characters and need a good cry!

message 36: by leilabug ♡ (new)

leilabug ♡ | 27 comments the adrenaline rush would give me the strength to just carry my entire bookshelf :)

for real though, i’d either take my kindle/phone (is that cheating?), or AGGGTM <3

Nat | 141 comments Most of my books could be replaced but one I’d likely never find again is The Magical Horses by Beate Epp. I don’t think many copies are out there, it’s a signed edition and one of my all time favs, worth a few singed hairs to get that one

Brian | 186 comments Christine wrote: "But the bible can get replaced by another bible."

Just about every book mentioned here, could be replaced...so why did you single out the bible?
