Does this mean there are now 2 teams with 5 members each - Page Slayers and Fierce Dandelions? The other 3 teams each have the max number of 6 I believe: Tenacious Trailblazers, Sassy Sisterhood and Shadow & Flame.
So really, there is room for TWO more readers to join teams!
That's exciting!

I encourage all PBT members to join a group just to be a part of the game. You don’t have to be a heavy reader. If you like to read a couple tag books most months anyway, and can match one of the letters, that’s all it takes to play. We have back-ups for every letter, so there is no pressure.

@Nicole - so sorry to hear of your tough time, but what joy to anticipate! If you need support or distraction, a place to share or vent, just pop into the latest Kaffeeklatsch. We are all there for you.
❤

Not sure just how to hook you in to figuring out what group you might be most comfortable it. Maybe look at the individual and team tracking for January and February for each team and see where your level of reading fits most comfortably? Also look at January Team Results - a separate thread. You will find those threads under Activities topic below.
Or maybe just ask a few questions and ask the team reporters for Page Slayers, Trailblazers, and Dandelions to answer. Or ask them to pitch to you here. I'd probably go the question route personally - i.e. how do the readers breakdown between heavy, light, book club reads only, very slow, etc. readers.
The basics are that each team was formed up by members organizing themselves. Team size could be from 4 to 6 members. Both Sassy Sisters and my team, Shadow & Flame are at the maximum of 6 members. Teams Page Slayers and Tenacious Trailblazers have been set at only 5 members since January 1. Fierce Dandelions had 6 but have now dropped to 5 members.
One thing I know for sure: you will be very welcome wherever you land.

I am on the Page Slayers team. We are a very laid back group, and none of us are highly competitive. We all read one or two books a month for the challenge, and another extra one or two. We aren't in it for the points or the glory, just for the fun and the challenge. We finished January in last place, and all of us were pleased that it was only by 2 points! If you are looking for a low stress but supportive of each other team, consider us, we would love to have you join us. If you are looking for a highly competitive team, we aren't it.

Honestly any of the 5 player teams would be great. Roll a dice to decide! This is such a friendly group. And the competition element is just a bit of fun, and a little bit of extra incentive to read some books that we’ve been wanting to get to (or get back to in some cases), or to read some things that we never usually think of picking up.
I have had my two best ever reading months since I joined PBT with this challenge - not just in numbers but in quality of books. (Ok yes I am rereading the Twilight saga at the moment because I planned to this year anyhow and work is stupid and my brain is dead, but I have some *good* books lined up lol).

Also, as Kate says, for many of us it's a great way to get to some of those books in the TBR -- whether mountains, towers, shelves, piles on the blanket chest or nightstand, or an enormous library waitlist or ebook library -- and there have been treasures to be sure.

Welcome Kim! I am one of the administrators for PBT and also for this particular challenge. Feel free to send me a private message if I can help you get started/situated with a team.

If you are still having trouble deciding on a team, you can always flip a coin. :-)
Looks like Page Slayers and Tenacious Trailblazers are the two teams left with only 5 players.

I am new to PBT and enjoy challenges and would love to play! I'm happy to join either team with a need for a player.

Hi MelanieJoy!
Tenacious Trailblazers are thrilled to have you join! Once you have accepted my friend request I'll get a group invite sent your way.
Also, you can find all the info for the Books with Friends challenge here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If you need a jump start to find a book to fit this month’s challenge, you can find many eligible books here on our listopia:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
Vote on the books you liked or want to read. If you click on “5 people voted” below a title, you can see who voted for the book. Below the list you can see all the voters. If you click on a name, you can see what books they voted for. This might help you find members with similar reading interests. This is new, so we don’t have everyone’s votes yet, but it should save you some time.
This is a wonderful group and I hope you enjoy reading with us.

Warmest welcome, MelanieJoy! I am one of the administrators and just wanted to thank you for checking us out and signing up to play!

Yes we are. Thanks for leaving it up Anita.

I'm hoping kim is still hoping to join, so that we also end up with 6 players!
Kim, let us know. :-)

Hi, Kim! I'll send you a friend request. Once you've accepted I can invite you to our private group!
YAY! Welcome to Page Slayers!

Kim & Mel - it is wonderful as newbies to plunge right in! I joined in August 2018 and a mere month later was in buddy reads organized by Amy and deep into Fall Flurries challenge. It was the best way to go.

Yes, it is :). I'm happy that all of our teams have 6 players.
If you didn't sign up for a challenge this year, but are anxious to play, please let us know. Books with Friends is not terribly demanding, and you can most likely dovetail your TBR with the options available.
Please PM me if you are interested!
