I have only read about 25% of The Women, the new historical fiction novel by Kristin Hannah, and already I'm loving it. It is the story of one minimally trained nurse who enlists in the army during the Vietnam War and describes how she grows professionally and the comraderie with two other nurses serving a hospital near the front lines. The setting and people are described so well that the reader moves in to this book. Unless the remainder of the book changes drastically, I believe it will be my next five star favorite read.
If you are looking for a gold covered book, I recommend Diva, Daisy Goodwin's newest historical fiction about the opera singer Maria Callas and her love affair with Aristotle Onassis. Some other gold options - The Pillars of the Earth and The Gift of Rain. Since gold isn't the easiest color to find, how about using gold writing and/or trim on the cover like The Spanish Bow or Fairy Tale? Is that a stretch? I plan to read The Gift of Rain. which has been on my reading plan for several years now!
purple was the trickiest & had to scroll my soon to be read list to find one (other than some classics that came to mind)! I also added a magenta / pink category, because felt it needed it!

A five star read for me.
