Perhaps we should have a folder where people solicit recommendations for indie works of specific types. Which could get pretty specific, down to giving examples of what you like.
People, we have tons of folders for everything. I was just teasing Courtney. Seriously, though. Go post elsewhere, thank you.
You may have noticed we have genre-based boards for book recs. One of the things our group does - and is hopefully helpful and unique for - is recommend books by other indie and self-published authors we've enjoyed to help spread word-of-mouth as opposed to just promoting our own novels. "Good authors are good readers" is the general spirit of things.
If you can think of little known or under-appreciated novels written by others, please share! Start a topic under the genre board it fits (please, DO NOT POST RECS HERE. A mod will just tell you to start a new topic for the book) and give us GR links as well as a paragraph or so telling us why it's a great book.
Also, we DO NOT permit members to recommend their own books. Apologies we can't be more obliging there but we have had problems in the past with spam and such and self-recs get deleted.
We DO have Author folders, by genre, (pick whichever best reflects your work) so use that space to tell us what's going on with you. And don't feel shy about getting involved in other topics or starting your own that would be of interest to our members :D
