Getting Noticed by Booktok

Hi all,

Pretty new to Goodreads, and I guess Booktok too. I've certainly grabbed and read a few books based on recommendations on TikTok, but I perhaps haven't interacted much.

But now my first full prose novel, A Con Affair, is out (I'd previously exclusively worked on comics) and I genuinely think it would be well received by BookTok. It feels to me, in my admittedly biased opinion, that it fits with the love for m/m romances, romance themes in general, and with a general New Adult/more adult focus than is typical in YA romance books.

However, I have no idea how to attract the attention of BookTok, beyond posting with the hashtags. So I wondered: do people have hints and tricks that may be useful for new authors for trying to attract the BookTok crowd to check out their work?

I am genuinely interested in this. I tried TikTok before, but it doesn't seem to be a good fit for me personally (maybe I'll give it another chance in the future). Any BookToker in the house that can point us in the right direction?
