The Forest of Vazon A Guernsey Legend of the Eighth Century

The date published appears to be in the 2000’s or slightly earlier on all the editions in Goodreads. However, there is an edition on Worldcat with a publication date of 1889 and I suppose you could argue for a date in the 8th century.

Trying for some oldies points. 😉

There was an edition on Project Gutenberg with the 1889 pub date, so I corrected the original pub date.

Yes! As long as a it meets our regular criteria (high enough Lexile level, not a graphic novel/recipe books/etc.), this is eligible for style claims 🤗

Yes, I think we don't usually have Oldies points when we have the 1001 style (or Canon).

I have books on the way / ready to pick up for Guernsey, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. The list isn't easy to find books for, but I am getting what I can!

I have some”notify me” on Libby/Overdrive for Latvia and Lithuania, and I have an okay strike rate of books becoming available, so we will hopefully get a bit closer.

Global reading is a hobby of mine, but more in the “author” from vein, rather than “set in”, so if I can achieve both I am happy.

I try to get 40 countries in a year. Missed out last year, but I think I will get closer this year.
