If you had to choose 3 artists to listen to for the rest of your life, from your own country who would it be and why?

Nice idea!I'm from Italy, and I have to say there are not many artists I like so much to say I couldn't be without (we tend toward pop as a rule, and I'm more of a hard rock type), BUT. There are exceptions.
1. My greatest love is Franco Battiato, he was a songwriter and a philosopher. He had some great prog songs, but basically I love everything he did. I was lucky I heard him live twice in his last tours, before a wicked illness took him away. I can't name a single favorite, but check Shock in my town or Insieme a te non ci sto piú (I won't stay with you anymore)
2. Caparezza. He is a rapper, very politically involved, particularly about South Italy, where he is from. Great technique, amazing writing, he really has a way with words. Among my favorites, Una Chiave (one Key) and Non siete Stato voi (a clever play between "It wasn't You" - meaning the dark deeds of our government, and "You are not a Government". In Italian, "stato" is both a past tense of Be and a noun, meaning Country and by extension its government).
And I'm afraid that's it. There are others I like (Mannarino, several local bands like the Uttern or Sever, Carmen Consoli, Lacuna Coil, Fiorella Mannoia, Zucchero...) but I'm not so into them. I may sing along because I know them - I know way more italian songs that I would like, but it's not a big deal to me.
Is this like where they're from, or where they mostly performed? Tell me if this is wrong...I'm from the U.S.1. One Direction- I absolutely adore their songs and are my top artists anywhere, everywhere!
2. Ariana Grande- I love her voice and she's the first artist that remember learning about, and love her songs!
3. Phil Wickham- His songs are awesome. Period.

1. I'm not sure if she is still singing (I heard but can't find a link that she was having trouble with her voice) but Hollie Smith. Her version of Bathe in the River is one of the great Kiwi songs.
2 Six60 Great Kiwi band, about to start touring nationally soon.
3 The The Fourmyula or just Wayne Mason on his own. Mason wrote & sang the best Kiwi song Nature. I'll never tire of it.
