The Bear and the Nightingale, the first volume in The Winter Witch Trilogy by Katherine Arden (drift into dreams of loving ancient nature gods, after)
Both volumes of The Hild Sequence by Nicola Griffith, a magical (& fictional, except for the battles and place locations) account of a real woman who lived in 7th century England. Elegantly drafted, intensively researched, it's an ode to strong women everywhere-- and how we remake the world with living art.

"Last night l dreamt l went to Manderley again."

Such a beautiful and tragic book, I wish I could experience the feeling of not knowing what was coming next in that book again.
