In this third entry in the Atlee Pine series by David Baldacci, Atlee finally has a lead on what happened to her sister. The search for Mercy takes her to Trenton, NJ where the person who took her lived. Although that man is missing and presumed dead, his son and grandson are still around. Atlee hopes to talk to them to gather more information on the man and continue to follow the leads to what happened to her sister. However, when attempting to contact the man's grandson, she inadvertently disrupts a military police investigation into him involving a drug dealing operation at Fort Dix. The army investigator is an old friend and they decide to work together to find the man who fled who holds the answers to both of their cases.

This was a decent continuation to the story. The overarching mystery of what happened to Mercy was advanced in a satisfactory manner. The mystery that was contained in this book alone, the Army investigation that started with the drug investigation, was interesting and developed in ways that kept me reading. Although it was a bit slow moving in the beginning, once the larger picture began to emerge it kept my attention. I continue to enjoy the characters in this series and I look forward to seeing how the mystery of what happened to Mercy is resolved.
