SOLVED. YA fiction probably. Person trying to escape, puts dead sheep down well, almost falls in themselves.

I remember a few of the rocks on the side tumble down, MC thinks this will make it more realistic.
I think they tried a pillow first but looked fake. Needed the shhep for the smell. Dont remember if MC killed or found the sheep.
Have read so many times, but the book title is escaping me.
