YA Fiction/ Fantasy. Boy tries to save the world from some kind apocalypse because of a blind creature (name staring with M). Read around 2013.

This is my first time posting on here so I'm sorry if this is vague in any way. I'm trying to follow the guidelines but I barely remember anything from the book.

I'm assuming the target audiences' age would be no more than 15 I read this around 2013 when I was like 10 years old thats why its hard to remember details.

The cover I remember was orange redish ombre and it had upclose the face of that creature (long slim face kind of boney). The title was one word which is the name of that villian creature (M-smth-j-smth). The book book was around 250 pages I believe. I think the book had an abandoned train scene at some point.

Thats all I remember really. Its been on my mind for about 3 years now and I had given up until a friend of mine suggested I try asking on here.
