Does that make sense?
Example: In a 5 book series, where I have read books 1 & 2, then I would read #3 and not #5?

The Fall (#0.5)
Of Blood and Fire (#1)
Thank you :)

Yes, the next book in a series where you have read at least one of the series already, so in this case you would read #3

Yes, that will work

Thanks. I was hoping that was the case, but wanted to be sure before I started hunting down a book.

perhaps you could start a series using the first book for another task and then read the second book for this task

We would recommend that you do as suggested by Marie & read book #1 of a series for another task & then use book #2 for this task.

I've been working my way through Neil Gaiman's Sandman. I've got to Volume 8 at this point: The Sandman, Vol. 8: Worlds' End, having read Volume 7 on 25 July 2023.
I just wanted to check it was okay, as while the series name is on the book page in grey, it doesn't have a #8 after it - as that's in the title.
Thanks.

In this specific instance, I will allow the series as the volume number is included in the title.

i.e. In the Kate Burkholder series I've read the whole numbers thru #13 (Fallen) but I haven't read Disappeared (12.5) or Blood Moon (13.5).
Can I use The Hidden One (#14)?

Yes, we will allow this as we know some people prefer to not read offshoots/side storylines that often appear in the half numbers

Many countries change their clocks to "summer time" in the spring, with the phrase. "spring forward, fall back" used to remind people which way to change their clocks
Read the next book in a series that you've already started. Half-numbers (eg #1.5) will work as long as they are next in the series.
The book must be new to you, and the series name must be noted in grey parenthesis under book title.
REQUIRED: state that the book is new to you AND which book in the series you have previously read
