Vanessa (vanessacumberlandcountypa) Larousse Gastronomique by Prosper Montagné by Prosper Montagné (no photo)

It's not a book I consult often but when I do it's a valuable and educational experience. My husband and I made macarons from this book's recipe for Valentine's Day.

I Drove Mules on the C and O Canal (Signed) by George "Hooper" Wolfe by George Hooper Wolfe (no photo).

This is a local history book, given to my father by my grandfather and given to me by my father. I've read it twice and will consult it again for local history purposes.

beatricesbooks | 35 comments This is a hard question! I can’t say just one book. My prettiest books are Caraval, Cruel Prince and The Infernal Devices

message 16: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Canela This is tough since I'm drawn to pretty covers and would actually pay a little more for a book if I don't like the cover of the cheaper one hehe.
My prettiest books are definitely my clothbound editions of several classics like the Austen's books or Anna Karenina.
My Harry Potter black-and-white edition is also very pretty in my opinion.
Other books that I bought for their covers mainly are Before the Coffee Gets Cold, Piranessi, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, and One Hundred Years of Solitude.

message 36: by Erica (new)

Erica Robbin (ericarobbin) | 82 comments I used to have this Edwardian Dollhouse book that was interactive, 3-D, really beautiful book. Where you could pull on tabs and it had windows and shutters, with revealing spaces between the pages, amazing.

But I had a dog who tore it up. Sad. I have yet to replace it.
