message 5: by Rohit (new)

Rohit | 210 comments I finished a great non fiction book and inspired by the Mods here, venturing into Fantasy. Trying a popular book the Hobbit

message 6: by Rohit (new)

Rohit | 210 comments I read the Hobbit. I usually don't read fanatsy much but it was good. I enjoyed the story despite maybe not being the target audience age group. Thanks to Em for opening a new door

Rohit | 210 comments I am now reading an Indian author. Ghachar Ghochar is the name of the book. Seems highly rated

It was one of those rare instances where I enjoyed the movie but disliked the book. The book was a snooze fest for me.

This is probably my first fantasy book so not really sure :) I liked the story but got characters mixed up sometimes. I'll try some more books before giving lord of the rings a try.

The ABC murders. It was pretty good. Have you read it?

message 16: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 386 comments I have read ABC Murders .It's very popular. But it was a letdown for me . Didn't really comprehend it .
Will reread it some day

Have read all ACs in my childhood and early adulthood, and have read a few again later on.
I love her Marple more than Poirot books, perhaps due to the village background. Dont much like Tommy and Tuppence or standalone books.
Her Mary Westmacott books, memoirs and autobiography are better than her detective fiction.

message 24: by Rini (new)

Rini George | 97 comments I am on a one book per month reading challenge but I am a moody reader sometimes I feel like reading a physical book sometimes I like e book sometimes I need a short story so right now I have three books which I am currently reading.

since my last month's book was silent patient which was a pretty depressing story line a friend recommended to read better than the movie book to cheer me up .. but it's not going anywhere I feel..

This Japanese whodunit seems to be very popular with Indian readers. Are there any similar whodunits based on a Chinese setting?
