Illustrated book about Mythical Creatures / Read in the '90s but likely published before then

I’m looking for a book about mythical creatures that I used to take out of the library in the mid to late ‘90s. It had a few pages per creature with illustrations that I believe were in color (similar to this illustration style if memory serves me correctly: https://d3525k1ryd2155.cloudfront.net...). The only creature that I know for sure was in it was the mermaid. I distinctly remember an image of a mermaid swimming horizontally on one of the pages, possibly at the bottom of the page. Based on the style of illustration, I would guess that the book was published in the ‘70s or ‘80s, but I can't say for sure.
