@Smith is always balanced and fair...and I've noticed...she doesn't hate books just because she hates the character or some part of the story arc...she distinguishes between them. That takes a very mature reading eye, Tonks.@Smith, eye not chronological age, heeeeeeee ;-)

Yeah Zaara, it's mostly story-telling that I look for in a book, more than the story itself.Rothfuss has been good.

I feel as if I read the book ages ago, and my forgetful mind has moved on to other hero(in)es.But its good to read the discussions going on here. Never thought this thread would touch 500 messages.
Zaara- Sorry, was in class. :-/Yes, I agree to what you said about Smitha.. She analyses everything before putting up a rating, so its good to read her views always. :)
And Abby will join in, surely. I've booked him ages ago for Book #2. :P

did you feel any similarity between Sympathy and Alchemy/bondsmagi magic from that book?
I feel sympathy is better explained, and seems more feasible than the bond magi of LL. Don't remember much of the latter ...

Actually I didnt give their argument much thoughts as I was pissed off at the ending.

I'm not an action junkie either, although I do need something to happen every once in a while.
For example in Book 2 of the Broken Empire(and if you haven't read this series yet, Vimal, you just HAVE TO) nothing much really occurs in terms of action, except for a big trip. And yet it's a riveting and justifiably well-praised piece of writing.
It's all about the inner journey vs the outer one (action, loud fizzes and bangs) and this book...had enough of both...to strike a balance.

I liked both, Deej, very much. But given a choice, Rothfuss (i.e. the book) over Kvothe any day.
Me too.. Rothfuss over Kvothe. That doesn't mean I like Kvothe any less, but Rothfuss rules. ^___^

Not intentional. That part didnot stick in my mind. ANd the ending was sort of abrupt. One minute Bast and Chronicler were arguing it out, and lo the next page I turned is "the End". I was baffled

Yes I have read LL books 1 and 2...and have set out my thoughts about those books in excruciating (LOL) detail in my reviews so won't repeat myself here...
