This month's secondary read is RELIC by Preston & Child.

Play nice, use spoilers, have fun.

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 81 comments on my reread list for this year so I'm in

Jeremy Hurd-McKenney (jtcontinental) Just read this last year, and I think new readers will be in for a treat.

Eric (eterrell3) | 97 comments Going to try to jump into this one. Had this one on my tbr list for quite a while.

I've read this one three times so far, but may read it again once I get a few reviews finished up--definitely worth re-visiting!

Tom | 340 comments I think I saw it but the memory is faded. I hope it doesn't all come back to me while I read

While I liked the movie, I--personally--felt that the book was much better. I think you'll enjoy this read, even if you've already seen the movie version. :)

K.L. Phelps (kl_phelps) | 180 comments Think I read this one long ago and I know I've seen the movie countless times, fun little flick.

message 14: by Eric (new) - rated it 4 stars

Eric (eterrell3) | 97 comments Loving the museum setting even though it is providing unintended Night At the Museum flashbacks!

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 81 comments I enjoyed the movie but also think the book is better... as they usually are ..

Walter Spence (walterspence) | 573 comments I read the first April pick not too terribly long ago, but don't recall ever reading Relic, so I have that one on order at the library. Unfortunately the local system doesn't have it, so they're having to interlibrary loan it, which means it could take a while to come in.

message 17: by Nicole (new) - added it

Nicole Sanchez (tarrish) | 8 comments I already read our primary book for the month, so I'll jump on this one. :)

I'm pretty sure you'll like it Walter

The movie was based on the book, but as is usually the case, there's more to the book than the movie version.... :)

And best of all, it's considered the start of the Pendergast series, one of my all time favorites. I hope everyone will continue with it as it gets better and better as it goes on.

Olivia "So many books--so little time."" | 106 comments I read Relic some time ago and really enjoyed it. If you haven't read it you're in for a treat.

Vicki Willis I haven't read it yet, but it looks good. I am going to start it this week.

Maxine Marsh | 737 comments I've got this in paperback, hopefully I'll have time to tackle it soon...

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 175 comments I'm going to read both this and the Pines this month, so once I finish Pines I'll start Relic. I saw the movie years ago but don't remember it well, so hopefully the book will seem fresh.

The book was far better. But if you liked the movie, you'll probably love the book.

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 175 comments I started this one last night, and it starts off pretty quick. Engrossing read.

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 81 comments I've read this before, though it's been awhile, but I still had to make myself put it down last night and get some sleep..... expect to finish tonight

Still one of my all-time favorites with Pendergast. :)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 955 comments Ooooh I want to join in!! Hadn't planned to read it until a few books from now, but will bump it up soon. Guess April I'll have to read several horror books. Been wanting to start this one for awhile.

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments Started it this morning, I'm at 26% and loving it, especially Pendergast! This will be another great read I have a feeling, just finished Pines...

message 38: by Katy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katy Mann | 988 comments Does anyone know if they've put any of the books into a Kindle bundle? Sometimes you can get Books 1-4 or something similar bundled together. I didn't see any, but someone else might have.

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments Katy if you need Relic just pm me.

Loving the book. Somewhere around 50% or more...

message 40: by Tom (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tom | 340 comments Read this on Saturday and Sunday at the expense of every weekend project. I loved it, couldn't put it down

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments Tom wrote: "Read this on Saturday and Sunday at the expense of every weekend project. I loved it, couldn't put it down"

I got kind of stuck the whole afternoon at my computer, bit of business bit of pleasure, but my mind keeps on wondering back and thinking of the moment top grab the book back in my hands :)))

To top it off, just today realized there are 14 books in this series and it seems all are more or less great. Of course I marked each as 'to-read'...so I'm wondering, are we reading the 2nd book after we finish this one or is that one going to be optional, like a buddy read or something?

Joanne Moyer (catwoman56) | 81 comments still as good as it was the first time I read it .... and the second ..... now I guess I'm gonna have to read them all as I've been yelled at many times for not continuing the series.... seems like a good time to start

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 175 comments I'll definitely read the next in the series, not sure about after that.

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments The exhibition is just a few hours away...things are going to get interesting I dare guess!

You won't be sorry if you invest time in this series. The whole Pendergast series is a lot of fun. Great stories and great characters!

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments Eric i second that :)
Thx Kasia, good to know we're on the right path to enjoyment lol

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 955 comments Sadly I didn't get to start it yet as planned in time for this buddy read - hopefully before the end of the month I'll be able to start it.
