We only have two we haven't used, and we are close to using one for pink! Might be open to a rule change on Friday, depending on what everyone's pendant tracking looks like.
I changed my mind on Remember Me and went to Bride. It is a love story. I should be able to finish it tonight or early tomorrow.
I finished Linda Tressel for book with a character whose name starts with a letter in SILVER. I put it there since that was a closest bead to being finished. It fits several other prompts, including published in the 18th century.
Hooray! We finished our first round of getting all the beads, and are close to getting a couple more going into the weekend!

I'm sure other people thought this way, and maybe Emily did when creating the prompt, but the 1800's are not the 18th century, they are the 19th! For instance, the book you mentioned , Linda Tressel is from 1868. So if Mardi Gras started in New Orleans in the 1700's, that was the eighteenth century (harder to find a book from there - the Regency and Victorians are 19th. But something set at the American Revolution is good.

So the book Letters of two Brides that I counted for set in the 18th century doesn’t fit there for our first silver bead. What to do?
I have A Girl Called Samson on audio so I should be able to finish that by Sunday which will actually fit "set in the 18th century." I moved Letters of Two Brides to "black on the cover." So we actually didn't finish the first Green Bead.
I finished Consider the Fork: A History of How We Cook and Eat and put it under silver on the cover to finish our second silver bead!I will also be able to finish The Fury today. I'll put on one of the black prompts, since that's the next bead we're closest to completing.
Emily wrote: "(Robin, you wrote that prompt haha!)"
Sorry for the confusion! I must have written it because that's when Mardi Gras started in NOLA and I assumed people would know it was the 1700's. I should have specified - or I should have chosen a different prompt because it's harder to find books from that century!

Just finished Tom Lake! I'm putting it for the alcohol prompt on the black bead, so we only have one prompt left for that one - main character who breaks the law!

I say leave it lol. It's all good!

Well, I'm already listening to A Girl Called Samson set during the American Revolution. It's pretty good, so I'll just continue.

That's okay, Robin. I just didn't think it through. Now I'm listening to A Girl Called Samson which does fit.
I finished Bride and put it in purple under "spicy" because it was WAY spicier than I ever read. So much so that it lost a star (down to 4) but the story line was really good. Not sure what I am going to pick up, something with a great mystery in it. I think.
Finally, after three days, finished Luckiest Girl Alive. Darn real life getting in the way of my reading! I put it under 'black on the cover'.
Now to decide what to read next then goto bed!
Finished Under the Bayou Moon last night and put it on blue for travels to another state. Going to read The Night Shift today.
I finished Dance of the Happy Shades and Other Stories and added it under MARDI GRAS. So we finished another purple bead!
I finished A Moveable Feast for set in France and I will be able to finish listening to River Kings tomorrow for featuring a king or queen. That will complete our second gold bead.
I finished A Girl Called Samson and added it to "book published or set in the 18th century." Now we have our Green Bead!
I put Little Lord Fauntleroy under "Purple on cover." Robin, your book looks like it's go under Purple also.
Maybe we can finish a second green bead?I read Roadside Picnic and put it under source of light on the cover. I can also finish The Baron in the Trees for 18th century.
Robin, would Dear Martin fit a character who is overcoming a life or death struggle?
I am finishing The Big Bad Wolf in a hour. It would count for life or death struggle. I have not checked any thing else. I will see where it fits as soon as I am done.
I changed Little Lord Fauntleroy
to a book with green on the cover. There's some green in the corner.

Yes, Dear Martin can fit life or death struggle, but I see that's filled in. We have every category done at least twice, fantastic! I put this one under Set in Southern US (Atlanta) in case we get even more. I am also going to finish When Women Were Dragons, which fits under at least 6 prompts.

Finished up my last book, The Secret. Put it under author's name begins with a letter in NOLA but it could go many other places. Feel free to move it if it helps us complete anything.

Anyone working on a love story? That's the only thing missing for pink, and that would mean we had one of each bead!
