My first update was on Feb. 9 because I'd seen other people posting in the thread and I'd joined late, but looking back now, it seems that was too early? It's unfortunate since that's the day I read the most.
These are my actual totals for the days:
Feb 9 - 150 pages
Feb 10 - 63 pages to finish Exes and O's (but if the previous day's reading didn't count, I guess this book doesn't even count toward the readathon since I didn't have 100 pages left)
Feb 11 - 101 pages of A Twisted Love Story
Feb 12 - 101 pages again
I did find it weird that things seemed to start on Friday, but I guess I got it wrong? Pretty frustrating since it means the only book I've read so far doesn't even count!

We are so close to finishing the blue section, so I filled the prompt 'A book where someone travels to another state/country'.

I'm so sorry, that is definitely frustrating! I would check with the mods in the team challenge thread and see if we can just bundle friday and saturday together?

You make me laugh! 😁

I trust you are enjoying both!

YAY US!!

Yes, as stated on the Readathon Intro and FAQs thread HERE, it does run February 10-18, so you cannot count what you read on February 9. You'll just need to make the adjustment on the PENDANT TRACKING sheet. But that's still great!! Every page counts!!

Worth a shot, but I doubt they'll allow it lol It was my fault for not reading the thread carefully enough.
Today I read another 98 pages of A Twisted Love Story, expecting to finish it off tomorrow.

That's a great idea, Sophia! The worst that can happen is they say "No." 🤗

I'm sending a private message to Emily right now.

We have our first GREEN and BLUE beads!! Whoo! Whoo! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
We lack just one prompt from a PURPLE bead: A book that is 'spicy' and there are three books listed that could fulfill that one!
GOLD: 3 more prompts to fulfill
PINK: just 2 more prompts
SILVER: just 2 more prompts
BLACK: 4 more prompts to fulfill
We've used 2 of our 6 pendants, so we have 4 remaining!!!

I know they post the team threads a day or so ahead so people can say hello to their team mates and plan ahead in some cases for prompt. So I know Lynn & I both added our planned reads to the spreadsheet before the read-a-thon stated.
Also, I tend to post my numbers as I go - so if I get up and read 50 pages, then check in, I'll put the 50 pages in. Then every time I check in, I update what my total for the day is. So I already have a number in for today's reading, but it's not the final number, it's just up to the moment of my last check in.
Also, I know I'm not going to have any audio hours, so I filled in the zeros a head of time.

That's great! Thank you, Sophia, for your wonderful idea!!

I picked up my first Perry Mason book last night, The Case of the Beautiful Beggar and started reading it. I had picked this up very cheaply at a library sale and wanted to read it for the 52 Book Club prompt of "Bibliosmia: A Smelly Book! This one is quite old (published in 1965) and I kinda loved the "musty" smell of it when I purchased it! And...a character must stay in a hotel!! Perfect!!
I am teaching and working out again this evening, but will concentrate on finishing With the Fire on High today/tomorrow since it is the only option we currently have for the BLACK prompt: a food item on the cover!

Thanks Sophia and Lynn for your support and suggestions! Glad my mistake didn't have too big an impact on our progress so far.

I think I need to pick shorter books for the next read-a-thon lol. This is only my 2nd time so I have a lot to learn!

It is Sophia who thought outside the box and truly helped!! 👏👏

I'm so glad to be on your team, Shelby!
I will say, that I think most, or at least many, of us do try to stick to shorter books for these readathons. However, with that said, I do find it helpful to have another longer book that I have started standing by just in case we end up needing more pages read or hours listened. That can happen...more books are completed, but the team needs more pages/hours to count the books!
And, I'm sure we all have varied strategies... Perhaps others can also let you know how they strategize!

I will work to complete With the Fire on High for the BLACK food item on the cover prompt today, but I can't promise much more than that!
I'll check in tomorrow morning. Have a great day!!

I fly home tomorrow so lots of good plane/ airport waiting time for reading.

YAY!! For the pendants, not that you're having a rough week! Ugh. Hopefully that improves for you!!

Be safe!

We are getting there, Team Endymion! Progress has been made and is being made!
We already have 4 of 7 beads completed!! WHOO!! WHOO!!
Just 6 more prompts to fulfill for those last 3 beads!! Thanks to Sophia for adding the pendants to all 7!!
GOLD (2)--Set in France and Someone who wins at something!
SILVER (1)--Related to mythology!
BLACK (3)--A book with black on the cover, Main Character breaks a law, Title begins with a letter in BLACK
It looks as if there are plenty of options on the planning sheet for each of these, though only two each for Set in France and Mythology!
I'll be finishing The Poet X for an IRL book club meeting Sunday and The Seven Year Slip for a buddy read. Not sure I'll get both finished today since I teach and workout this evening again, but I'll try!
Then I have a whole stack of shorter books from which to select after that!

Change of plans for me today. I had a bit of a drive ahead of me but I drove about 30 minutes and the roads were a sheet of ice. I saw 16 accidents and decided to turn around and stay safe at home today.
I'll keep working on reading NOS4A2. I'm hoping to finish it for the ' book with black on the cover' prompt.

I had an exhausting evening of 3 1/2 hours on the road to get to my gym and back yesterday/evening! That 1-2 inches of snowfall they predicted turned into more than that and roads and traffic were awful, but at least the majority of drivers were cautious and safe!! That trip is typically only 1 1/2 hours for the round trip! Yikes!
Anyway, I used The Poet X for black on the cover and now we just need one more prompt to complete a BLACK bead. That is "A book whose title begins with a letter in BLACK.
There are currently 3 options listed on the planning sheet. I do have a juvenile book which would work and I could easily read yet today, but I'm not sure I need to do that. I am uncertain whether The Drunken Botanist: The Plants That Create the World's Great Drinks fulfills this prompt since it states the title is to BEGIN with a letter in BLACK? Thoughts? Sherri is uncertain that she'll be able to finish Babel by the end of the readathon. The third option is Rachel's A Twisted Love Story which is now listed as COMPLETE, but I cannot find on the COMPLETED sheet nor on any of the individual BEAD sheets, so I guess that has not yet been used to fulfill a prompt? Unfortunately, it definitely doesn't fit this prompt...
So I think I'll go ahead and read this juvenile book now so we have that prompt fulfilled. In the meantime, in deciding where to count The Seven Year Slip I fulfilled a purple prompt since it seems that of the planned books remaining, the one BEAD with the most options for all prompts was the PURPLE one.
Here's to more good reading time for us all the remainder of today and all of tomorrow!! Whoo! Whoo!

If any of us finish books now, please fulfill PURPLE prompts, if possible. Perhaps we could earn another bead or two before the end!
Great teamwork!! 👍😁👏👏👏👏👏👏

I guess technically that's it for me for this readathon since Emily told me to count the extra day I started early last week instead of what I read tomorrow to balance things out!
