I read this book around 2000 to 2005.
It was about a girl who had to lead a magiciains group which came as a shock to everyone. I believe in the same group they had some sort of teleporattion chamber that was built in a geometric shape like an octagon. I believe there was three types of distictions they had, battle mages, scholars, and healers or researchers. I believe they had a fast travel spell that has been explained like they reach into/inside the soil and collapse it together.
I read the book most likely in Polish so this is translation of memories I have of it.
