Kelsey Modlin (kjmodlin) | 6 comments I recently started working for a very small library branch in rural West Virginia and have been given the reins for ordering new materials for the library! I do want to stick with ordering mostly new titles from authors that we have quite an audience for already as there is an older crowd who usually frequents this library, but I'm interested in hearing what others think would be a good book/specific author to look into adding to the catalog here!

Sarah J. Maas is a really good Romantasy author. Most of my friends read her books but I am only 16 so.
And for elder people I don't know to be honest.
Debbie Macomber makes really good romance books.

Kelsey Modlin (kjmodlin) | 6 comments Ooh, SJM is a good one, we don't have any of her books here currently and there's a shockingly small teen/YA section that I think would be worth it to build up. Thanks!

Well, I would get all crime novels by Carlene Thompson who lives in West Virginia and whose books take place in West Virginia.

Vanessa (vanessacumberlandcountypa) I like Chrstine's idea of ensuring local authors are represented in the collection. Also, local history and genealogy may be very popular areas of interest among your patrons. Good luck (and have fun!) with acquisitions, Kelsey!

that would be so cool! We don't have any of her physical books, and our branch is super big on local history too!

Thanks so much! We've got a pretty extensive collection of local history for our county so I think that's a great direction to take it too
