Tween/teen fantasy/science fiction book about school with lightning on cover

This book I read years ago when I was probably tween to teen age, maybe 2013-2018. The cover has a lot of blue, like cobalt blue, and a giant lightning bolt, maybe the main character boy but I'm not sure. From what I remember it's about a boy at a special school that deals with lightning bolts and/or storms. It's fantasy/science fiction because they physically deal with lightning and I think there's like simulations where students overcome challenges and observatories. The main thing is the main character is a boy, there's a school, and lightning.

Could it be The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan? That book starts out in a school setting and is about a boy who has some lightning and storm powers. There’s a version of it that’s dark blue with a lightning bolt.

No, it wasn't Rick Riordan, it wasn't about Greek mythology. I think there was a meteorology theme. The lightning wasn't magic powers, more like they just dealt with actual lightning like touching it and stuff.
