Alexa (alexadonne) | 10 comments Hello! Looks like when my publisher team added official metadata, etc. for my upcoming release, it spawned a duplicate page, so now there's a superfluous hardcover edition. Can these two be merged?
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

The one with the ISBN data should be the "primary," since that's the one my publishing team is maintaining, it looks like, but the one without (created when the book was announced) has all the adds/activity on it.

I also think there's an issue with getting the description updated. Looks like PRH updated the metadata last week but it's not pushing through? Another librarian mentioned something about copyright, but this is coming straight from Random House Children's Books so I don't know why it would block their update. Can someone approve the copy, etc. to update, as well?

Thank you so much for your help!!!

gem | 2620 comments This is actually a rare instance where a Superlibrarian is needed to complete the merge (since one of the editions has been rated/shelved a bunch).

I opened a request for you in the correct forum and will let you know when I hear back. I also had to temporarily separate the two hardcovers. Please do not recombine them until the merge is complete.

There's an official note in the system asking us to not re-add the old description so I'm wary of editing anything there. You might be best off contacting GR support for that one.

gem | 2620 comments Merge is complete and I've recombined the remaining hardcover edition with the other two:

It looks like the Librarian note about not using the old description has since been removed, but just in case I'm missing something I'd rather not add it. Probably best if you, someone from Random House, or GR support add it personally for each edition.

How to do it yourself:
Librarian Manual: How to edit book or author information

Or contact Goodreads Support:

edit: also I'm a complete dolt and literally just now realized you'd already posted this in the Superlibrarian folder. I could've sworn I came across your post while browsing in the "Author/Book issues" forum earlier today. So sorry for the confusion.
