message 102: by tara (new)

tara | 4 comments I didn’t have any dnfs till now, but I probably wouldn’t.
I didn’t finish it after all…

message 103: by Amber (new)

Amber | 2 comments I click on yes b/c to me, it feels like, I'm finished dealing with this book. I'm done. It's a sort of closure.

. ⊹ ࣪˖ Anya-Chan . ⊹ ࣪˖ (feathersofmysoul) | 18 comments Nope. If I don't finish, I don't let myself feel the satisfaction of calling a book finished.

message 105: by Victoria (new)

Victoria G | 9 comments Yes, I do! But I almost never DNF books (I've done it with maybe 10 in the past 5 years) and I try to always read at least 50% of the books no matter how much I don't like them.

I also always leave reviews on these and mention that I DNFd - I find it helpful when other people do that so I know what to avoid lol.

message 106: by Tara (new)

Tara Warner (mermaid_stuckonland18) | 26 comments I used to count them, but now I don't. The only book I have DNFed so far this year is a book that I'm not publicly reviewing due to the St. Martin's Press Boycott going on as it was a St. Martin's Press book that I received from book of the month.

message 107: by Meredith (new)

Meredith (meredithgayle) | 19 comments I don't count DNFs as read, though I do mark them on the Storygraph.

message 108: by Donna (new)

Donna | 1 comments I review books for a library-I've always wanted to start another review page titled "Books I've read so you don't have to," but my snark machine hasn't been cranked to 11 yet.

message 109: by Katherine ⸆⸉ (new)

Katherine ⸆⸉ noo

message 110: by Daniz (new)

Daniz (happygirl53) | 46 comments Depends how much of it I’ve read like if I read around more than half then I’ll count it as read

message 111: by Lady (new)

Lady Dazy (mrscsmith) No, if I did not know what happened in the end I do not say that I have read it.

message 112: by Mary (new)

Mary Definitely not. If I don't get through the entire thing, it's not a read book in my mind.

message 113: by Maria (new)

Maria | 6 comments No. It's like running a lap but you stop before the finish line and still try to count it as a lap.

message 114: by Thetheraphycircle (new)

Thetheraphycircle | 4 comments I usually force myself to finish the book in a day to get rid of it and count it as read

message 115: by Vittoria (new)

Vittoria | 65 comments I don't. But even if I don't count them as read, I sometimes leave reviews, because the dnf ar normally books that I found extremely boring or actually bad, so I have to leave a review to let others know why I decided not to finish them

message 116: by AJWANG (new)

AJWANG BRENDAH (ajwangmd) | 11 comments Nope, I did not finish reading it

message 117: by Em (new)

Em | 25 comments No bc if I don’t finish it then I don’t fully know the plot so yeahhh

message 118: by Mike (new)

Mike | 107 comments No. I have several that I have not touched for a while, I will finish them eventually. I have only 3 that I actually never finished. They are memorable in that there was no way I could finish them.

This Charming Woman (inactive) (tcwreads) | 20 comments ofc not.

message 121: by Gypsy (new)

Gypsy (ignited_red_queen) | 25 comments no, it's not complete

message 122: by Madaline (new)

Madaline Beck | 38 comments Nope

message 123: by Carla (new)

Carla | 9 comments nope

message 124: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (iniysa) | 149 comments Depends on how far I got into the book.

message 125: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Jae | 11 comments I have a tried-but-failed shelf. I don't include it in my yearly goals, but I also don't DNF often. Sometimes, I make sure I like a book before I add it to my "currently reading".

message 126: by TKZ (new)

TKZ | 36 comments Ashley wrote: "I have a tried-but-failed shelf. I don't include it in my yearly goals, but I also don't DNF often. Sometimes, I make sure I like a book before I add it to my "currently reading"."

Love that idea of that shelf.

message 127: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Kay | 29 comments No because I didn’t actually read it. I will look up spoilers if I dnf far in which rarely happens. I try to dnf before 100 pages if I’m going to

message 128: by Marie English (new)

Marie English | 3 comments nope

message 129: by Tasha (new)

Tasha (il0veb0oks) | 8 comments I do if I have made it far enough in the book. I always try to make it at least to 100 pages before I give up. And even then I find myself going back to it and flipping through pages. It takes a lot for me to give up on a story and if I have stuck around and read what I did, I take credit for it.

message 130: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Snyder (got2shop) | 20 comments I do.

message 131: by Autumn (new)

Autumn McIntyre (abcsofdeath) Yes

message 132: by ♤Lizzy♤ (new)

☆EmilyEverAfter☆ (emilyeverafter) | 102 comments I don't.

message 136: by Karen (new)

Karen | 30 comments Nope

message 137: by Savannah (new)

Savannah | 8 comments No generally if I'm going to dnf a book it's at most 25% of the way through so I don't count it.

message 138: by Aleksandra (new)

Aleksandra (avaleva38) | 38 comments i've actually dnf only one book. i think it's in "read" on my goodreads but only to leave a review, in which i think i wrote i didn't finish. not sure tho, I don't remember.

message 139: by Aleksandra (new)

Aleksandra (avaleva38) | 38 comments nevermind, i don't have it on my goodreads, so no.

message 140: by Ada (new)

Ada (adalok1414) | 4 comments no. I always leave them in 'currently reading' personally I only mark 'read' the books I have completely read

message 141: by TheBookOfToday (new)

TheBookOfToday | 10 comments No, and occasionally i pick it up later so I'll count it then

Dave | 41 comments Not at all.

message 144: by Solan (new)

Solan | 6 comments Never

message 145: by Izzati (new)

Izzati (izzatiidrus) | 10 comments No, but Goodreads counts it as read. Which is why Storygraph is better in this case. It actually has DNF stats along with your read stats.

message 146: by rowan (new)

rowan | 88 comments nopeee! that's why unless the book is truly awful, i will be pushing thru no matter how long it takes lollll

message 147: by Catherine (new)

Catherine P | 8 comments It really depends on the situation. If, for instance, someone asks if I've read a the book and liked it, I'll say I did read it. But in my mind I won't say the I've read the DNF, because I haven't finished the book.

message 148: by Jasmina (new)

Jasmina (vjecnisanjar) | 9 comments I want to say yes, but it's a no because even though I read it until a certain point, I haven's finished it.

message 149: by Heather (new)

Heather | 8 comments No...but I have a DNF tag where I shelve it.
