Foreign names in books

Someone said that a boy named Slavik from the planet Svitanok (an Ukrainian name and the word for "planet" in Ukrainian) are hard to pronounce and are too similar.

Hard to pronounce? That person is not trying very hard...or doesn't want to really try. Books are meant to open one's mind to the World and the Universe, so I'm all in for foreign names.
