What's the most traumatizing book you've read and loved it? Even though you would probably never read it again.

Syma Malik | 5 comments A little life was the most traumatic book I've ever read in my life. It took me 6 months to finish it and it wasn't because it was a very long book. I was just so depressed after reading it. But I loved it nonetheless.

Tori Hook (torihoo) | 8 comments Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison. Good lord, it's hard to read but it was beautiful. One that will stay with me forever, but I don't think I could stomach reading it again.

georgia ☆ | 14 comments Heir of fire by Sarah J. Maas. i cant count how many times i had sobbing fits through that book.

message 21: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 53 comments Blindness and Tender is the Flesh, both books that made me physically gag while reading, the idea that the things people did in those books were so realistic and things were all physically capable of doing if we needed to. they were amazing pieces of literature and that's shown in my disdain for them, i truly hate the way those books made me feel, because they wanted me to feel that way. and that rlly is writing,

message 30: by Eider (new)

Eider Sánchez (eldeider) | 2 comments Probably, Doris Lessing's Briefing for a Descent into Hell. it's not traumatizing per se, but something in the way that book's written resonated with me and scared me about the future and how insignificant one may be.

Janine Ballard (httpwwwdearauthorcom) | 103 comments Another vote for Lord of the Flies here. I was depressed for a full two weeks after I finished it, but I think it did what Golding set out to do marvelously. A very necessary book.
