Anirudh Kukreja (anirudhkukreja) | 62 comments Hi! Please recommend a good book to help me out of my reading slump! Usually I finish a novel in a day/a day and a half; the last few books have taken me 2-3 days to finish :(
Preferred categories: thrillers, mysteries, whodunnits
And since I'm temporarily lacking confidence in my reading abilities; the shorter the novel, the better. Thanks!

Lucy | 131 comments readers block suuucks :(
i was in a massive reading slump from october-december, just starting to pick it back up.
unfortunately i don’t really read books in the genres you’re looking for, but good luck on your journey <3
my number one tip for readers block is to not push it—whether it’s that you’re reading slower than usual, or not reading at all, don’t force yourself because you’ll only push yourself deeper into the slump.

Rori | 99 comments The Silent Patient was nice I just finished it.
and Chris Carter Detective Hunter Series are amazing
and if you want something short and random and got a little bit of bromance between a vampire and a werewolf Gil's All Fright Diner

Killua | 364 comments i love this book called (paperweight by meg haston) it has less than 300 pages and is really fast paced, and it doesn't have really small letters. its really good and i always read it when I'm in a readers slump. but sometimes you just gotta take a break from reading for a few days and just watch some book content or fan art or people like haley pham or sara Carroll on youtube they are my favorite booktubers, and when I get excited enough to start reading i wait one more day before I start reading again so I get so excited that I can't wait to read. and if you are someone who scrolls on your phone all day ( like me) I try to not touch my phone and read while eating breakfast once I'm done eating I can decide if I want to continue reading or go on my phone. so that I don't feel guilty for not reading all day because I read for atleast 15 minutes at breakfast and if the books good I will continue.

evlove | 89 comments Sharp Objects or Five Survive!! Most YA thrillers really are a quick read and five survive was pretty solid imo. Sharp objects is shorter tho and even crazier to me. It depends what you’re into tho! I read each one in a 24 hour period

Tori Hook (torihoo) | 8 comments Not a book rec, but do you enjoy rereading? Sometimes revisiting an old favorite helps me get out of a slump!

Anirudh Kukreja (anirudhkukreja) | 62 comments Thank you so much guys!
@Christine: Added to the list!
@Jonesy: You're absolutely right, and pushing will just make the experience painful rather than fun. Thank you
@Rori: Read Silent Patient (amazing suggestion), will add the other 2
@Del: I've never read fanfics, any rec?
@Killua: Added Paperweight, will YouTube the Booktubers. And I am, indeed, like you when it comes to the phone addiction! Gets worse when you're reading on the phone coz every insta ping is a distraction lol
@Elise: 5 survive is next! Sharp Objects I've read already! Great Suggestions!
@Sarah : Read Silent Patient, added the other 2, thanks
@Tori: I do enjoy re-reading Rick Riordan's work, but some part of me is always upset that there are so many books that I haven't read which are waiting to be consumed
@Ash: Didn't think. Didn't even read the synopsis. Added it to the list. Thanks!
