Book involves a guy and girl (I think in their late teens) he has mental health problems and issues with his mom (if I remember correctly she is an alcohol). He disappears now and again and is the weird guy around school but he’s actually going to get mental help. The girl that lives next door becomes close but have known each other all their lives. Their place is the train tracks where they used to go when they were kids. Also he lives in a detached garage with the apartment above which he keeps super neat but as he loses control it is a mess with papers and writings and scribbling. He worked at a car shop and was mysterious but began to open up slowly to her.
