I work at a library, so I scan the covers and plot blurbs for many, many books. I was reminded of one today that I half-remembered as a Stephen King story, but when I looked at his bibliography it doesn't seem to be there. Or maybe it is and I'm just not looking at the right titles.
All I remember is that a woman has moved to the beach, I think in Florida, and has started obsessively jogging to get over something in her past. Something or someone starts chasing her, I don't know what or even if it was described in the blurb, but it turns her life into a very simple equation - can she outrun the danger, or not?
It's definitely "Gingerbread Girl," thanks! I'd been assuming it was the novel Duma Key, since that takes place in Florida, but when I glanced at the synopsis for Duma Key I didn't recognize it at all. My library has both Just After Sunset and Duma Key, though, so I must've transposed them in my head.

Ring any bells for anyone?
