I don’t know if it is because I got high expectations since this is a best selling series but I did not enjoy reading this although I eventually finished it. Not that this was a bad book, the concept seemed cool so I really wanted to like it but everything else just felt underdeveloped to me (especially the characters). Is it just me am I the problem or did anyone else feel the same way

Tbh i enjoyed the first book so much i mean i read it in like a day but then it just got dragged and i lost interest after the first book...everything was blah...I had to force myself to read the next book...couldnt read the next one..
personally, I really enjoyed this series although I can see where you guys are coming from. I read the whole series and the spinoff and I´ll admit the 3rd really does drag ;-;
i felt the same way. i only read the first book (bc i didn't like it enough to continue the series). everyone marketed it as 'genius', but i thought the writing, story and characters were rather basic, so yeah i was really confused, like are we reading the same book?? but i do understand why some people liked it.

I did think the first book was good and was getting somewhere and then over time in the series I just felt that there was not that much chemistry between her and Jameson :( or Grayson either

I have just completed this series. I loved it. I am a slow reader so to finish the whole series in less than a month is an accomplishment for me. I loved that the chapters are really short, so it kept me reading. I do wish that I got more from the Jameson and Avery relationship, but I understand that the book’s main focus was the games. This was my first mystery book I’ve read and because of it, I would be willing to read more. It would also be great to see it on film!
I still haven't read the 4th book but i love this series. I understand why others wouldn't necessarily like it though.
Wait, why didn't you all like The Inheritance Games? I loved it!
I am almost finished with inheritance games and do you think I should continue the series? like is the book good?? I mean this the first book I think I really liked it wdy ppl think tho?
i personally loved the inheritance games series. i also can’t wait for the grandest game to come out!!
I loved it when I first read it one or two years ago, but it's lost its shine as time went on and I didn't reread it.
I loved it, but there was room for improvement. I personally think the hype was centered around the Hawthorne brothers more than anything. I mean, what average reader won't be interested in another billionaire mystery?
should i read it? (i have a bunch of other things on my tbr already, but i've heard its really good from some people)

I got the series bc I'd been seeing it ALL OVER BOOKTUBE and everything, but i personally didn't love it. I couldn't rlly connect with Avery at all (the fmc), and all of the other characters just felt.. idk flat. I also fully expected myself to fall for the boys in it since they seemed super cute from what I'd seen on the internet ;), but again, they just didn't have that spark.
Also am I the only person who thinks that it's kinda sad that literally NO ONE in the whole series had a complete, loving family? I mean pretty much all of them either had divorced parents, a dead parent, or an abusive relationship with a relative. Like poor babies :/
I just completed the 2nd book so far I'm in love, but I can see why people might not like it, I haven't read the 3rd book yet(I plan to) but i really don't think there is a need or even content for a 3rd book, like all mysteries are solved now. And I feel the 3rd book might be a repetition of the first 2, because two books in we are still on the same reason why Tobias chose avery "a little girl with a intriguing name" at the end of each book we are told that avery is "done" being used, but if she isn't Going to be playing the game, there can't be a 3rd book, and there simply is no mystery left anymore.
