When Lucas Davenport is first introduced, he’s being surveilled by Internal Affairs and he knows it. We get an overview of him from the points of view of the IAB detective. What were your initial impressions of him?

[Sharon]

I wasn't sure what to think at first. I wondered if he was dirty cop, but he is smart and doesn't need the job on the police force. I kind of liked him from the beginning.

[Charlene]

It seemed clear to me that he was both intelligent and clever, well read and laid back. I did like him at the beginning.

I listened to the audio and at first I thought they were tailing the killer, lol. Took me just a bit to realize it was the detective of the series :)
He seemed intelligent, capable and clever.

Intelligent, sense of humor, maybe a bit smug and pretentious too. But I was hooked.
