NO an annoying protagonist instantly drops my rating down to a two or one star
NO it just ruins the whole book example five feet apart i LOATHED will so i hated the book 😭
If the plot and other characters are more interesting than I could probably enjoy it. Would knock off a star in my rating tho. However I do like unlikable mc so maybe I would end up enjoying it completely.

Sometimes! If the plot is good enough I’ll still read it, then the annoying character is a -1 star from what I would have rated it 😅But if the plot is bad on top of the insufferable characters.. then nope it’s a DNF

If the mc is really annoying I will probably dnf the book but if the mc is just annoying at some times and the other characters are to my liking I will read the book anyways★
Yes, it just depends on the level of annoying and how much its dwelled on in the book, for example, I thought Katniss was a turd in the first Hunger Games book, but over the course of them she grew on me.She was still a turd sometimes but also severely traumatized so we can forgive that, and the books ended up being really good.
...depends on how annoying we're talking, how quickly they can redeem themselves, and if it's an interesting enough train wreck to watch.

Yes, it just gives me a glimpse into how everybody has their own personality and I try to find out why they're that way and what makes them tick. It's all about learning and seeing things from every possible angle and perspective possible.
yes, but the story has to be really good and if they are annoying in a way that they always make bad decisions i will get mad but ill still continue the book
Mostly not. Especially if it's a character driven book. As for plot driven books, I can enjoy them if the other characters are likable and the plot is good.

I cannot stand pick me MMC and FMC! the whole "I'm not like other girls" or "I'm not like other guys" irks me so much. it's immediately a no for me. I cant look past it and I cannot read past that. immediate DNF for me
very very difficult, but sometimes I make read it anyway because of some ✨AMAZING✨ side character
I remember Shatter Me was just so boooooring for me, I only really felt excited when I was reading Kenji's pov or Kenji's novellas
And Shadow & Bone was really boring too it actually took me a total of almost two years to finish that book - then i skipped straight to Six of Crows

no. I can deal with a dumb but lovable side character but the mc is the one ur supposed to be rooting for, and they're just disappointing when they're the dumb ones

If there’s character development and depends on how annoying but I feel like if it’s a FMC I get ticked off easier because Im like she should know better and if it’s a guy im like ok he’s a man makes scenes but ima need character development to continue for both
Hell nauh! I just got out of a situation like this. The villain had me reading on. In most case, it's a dnf for me. But rarely if I'm interested in other characteristics of the book like a villain or the side character or the plot is capturing enough to have me holding on.
Yes if the book is good, but I'd complain about them forever.

Idk it really depends on if there is character growth i mean i read this one book were i hated the character so much i just wanted to throw the book across the room sometimes but in the end i ended up loving the character sooooo sometimes ig but for the most part no
It can be almost painful but most books I read that start off with an annoying main character they usually grow and evolve.
I can enjoy the book but the other characters have to be better in order for me to finish it. I will force myself to finish it but my reviews are honest and will say it all.
I can if their annoying attitude is intentional. I need them to change or for their annoying traits to be called out by other characters. If it feels like the author doesn't realise how a character is coming across, I just find it uncomfortable.

Not necessarily, unless at some point a given character changes due to the influence of another or simply factors that influence it. But it depends. If the plot of the book is nice and the other characters are presented in an interesting way, I may like the book.
